Doug Arnold and Steve
Gretz met, musically speaking, in the fall of 1995, and discovered how
much they enjoyed making music together. Since that time, Arnold +
Gretz have performed in coffeehouses and church halls throughout
Southeastern Massachusetts. They have opened shows for such artists as
Pierce Pettis, Chuck Brodsky, Brooks Williams, Turkey Hollow, Electric
Bonsai Band, and Robbie O'Connell.
Steve & Doug both play a variety of acoustic guitars in their
performances, which combine strong vocal harmonies with their warm,
acoustic sound. Steve draws on a wide variety of folk and gospel
traditions in his song-writing while Doug's instrumentals reflect more
jazz and classical influences. Whether they are performing concerts of
sacred music in churches, or their normal fare of traditional, original,
and contemporary folk music in coffeehouses, Arnold + Gretz fill
each show with thoughtful lyrics, lovely harmonies, humor, and passion. |
