| Steve
grew up in Western New York state. As a teenager, he taught himself to
play the guitar, listening to Jim Croce and James Taylor. As an adult, he
pursued degrees in Intellectual History and Theology at Stanford and
Princeton.
Musically, he dabbled with different instruments and sang (mostly classical
and gospel music) in several different choral ensembles. But the folk-singer
in him never quite disappeared.
