I Cry Aloud to God

(I wrote this song in 1985...just before my son, Steven,
was born.
It actually came about on retreat at the Craigville Conference Center
while a group of us were there on retreat--the adult choir from the
First Congregational Church of Brockton, MA. Reverend Steven Wayles
was our minister and we all got the opportunity to compose our own
pieces. And this was my offering. It is from the heart. –DA)

I cry aloud to
God, aloud to God…
that He may hear me in the day of my trouble,
I seek the Lord; I seek the Lord.
In the day my hands are outstretched without wearying;
but, my soul refuses to be comforted.
I think of God and I moan.
Is my spirit fainting alone?
I cry aloud to God, aloud to God…
that He may hear me in the day of my trouble,
I seek the Lord; I seek the Lord.
