Q. Who are Arnold and Gretz ?

A. Arnold and Gretz is a folk-acoustic-duo. Doug Arnold and Steve Gretz, residents of Mansfield, have been performing in Southeastern MA coffeehouses since 1996. Click on the Bio's page for more.

Q. What kind of music do we play?

A. An A + G performance offers acoustic music from a variety of folk traditions. It combines original music with traditional folk favorites and covers of the best contemporary singer-songwriters. From love songs to spiritual quests to satirical glimpses at everyday life, their music covers a wide emotional range.

Q. What are we trying to do here?

A. To make you think. To make you feel. To make you laugh. We feel that our lives have been enriched and blessed by the gift of music—and we would love to share that gift with you for an hour or two.

Q. Where can I hear Arnold and Gretz?

A. Check out our schedule here at the website, to find out when we may be playing in your area. If you don’t see a convenient listing, why not consider hosting an Arnold + Gretz concert right in your own home? Invite your friends and neighbors, and let us do the entertaining for you...our music is ideal for intimate settings!

We will come to your home, and tailor a concert to meet your needs and tastes. We can play traditional or contemporary folk music, sacred or secular. Our original Arnold + Gretz songs range from silly and satirical to poignant and thought provoking. We can design a show in a concert format--or design something more interactive, with sing-alongs and lots of audience participation. We can bring our own sound equipment to handle large rooms or small, indoors or outdoors.

All we need is an attentive, listening audience. We don't play dance music, or "background" music to talk over. But if you can put together a group of people who want to listen, think, laugh, and be touched by our music, we'd love to come and play for you!

Our fees are negotiable, and would depend on a number of factors, such as how far we have to travel, how much equipment we need to bring, how large a group we are playing for, how long we play, and whether or not you are charging admission.
